The optimal surface treatment for a timing belt pulley depends on the material and operating conditions. Zinc plating, nickel plating, and anodizing protect against corrosion; hard coating increases wear resistance; while blackening or chrome plating improves the appearance. For applications with high demands on corrosion protection, wear resistance, and sliding properties, nickel-PTFE is often the most effective solution.
