Close-pitch timing reduces the reverse play between the belt tooth and the pulley gap. It is ideal for positioning tasks or applications involving frequent direction changes with high acceleration or deceleration.
One solution is to use a close-pitch timing belt. This reduces the reverse play between the belt teeth and the pulley gap, thereby improving positioning accuracy. Close-pitch timing belts are particularly well-suited for applications such as packaging machines, linear axes, or machine tools.
The deep-groove tooth profile reduces noise at high belt speeds exceeding 20 m/s. The air trapped in the groove is compressed less and can escape more easily.
A timing pulley with deep-groove teeth is ideal for this purpose. It reduces noise at high belt speeds and has proven effective, for example, in driving textile machines, compressors, and winding machines.
In that case, we recommend the Walther Flender special tooth profile, which makes it easier for the tooth to engage with the pulley, especially under load. The special tooth profile for hoist drives is suitable, for example, for elevators, storage and retrieval machines, or heavy-duty hoists.
It means that the timing belt pulley has been toothed using a special milling cutter. Zero-gap toothing is suitable for timing belt drives with AT and T profiles and improves the drive’s positioning accuracy.
